When and where is church? Our services are Sundays at 5pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. St. Luke’s is right on the avenue in Hampden, at 800 W. 36th Ave, 21211 at the corner of 36th and Chestnut. We meet in their chapel, which is behind the main sanctuary. Look for the doors in the back corner of their courtyard that faces the Avenue.
Where can I park? Parking is available on the street. On Sundays, metered and pay-to-park spaces are free. If you don’t see a spot right away, try going around the block. Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s give yourself a little extra time to find parking – we’re just a couple blocks away from the juggernaut that is the Miracle on 34th Street.
What should I wear? You can dress up if you like, but most folks are wearing their usual casual clothes.
Is the space handicap accessible? There is a ramp available and no steps needed to get to the chapel. However, the hallway to the restrooms are a little tight, which would make it hard to get a wheelchair in there. We have an amplifier that helps if you’re hard of hearing. Most of the time, we use a projector in worship, which makes things a little easier for those of us who would otherwise be holding our hymnals way far away to be able to read them.
