Today we made more than 50 sack lunches and brought them down to the homeless folks staying outside of Health Care for the Homeless in Baltimore.
We had Tony, Sidney, and Vanessa from HCH helping us out, and Tony and Sidney led us around the area to tell us about the realities of being homeless. Tony’s been homeless for years, and now spends every day helping his homeless brothers and sisters find housing and being an advocate.
Tony painted an unfortunate and bleak picture for those who struggle to find housing in our city. They have to cope with very difficult shelter situations, harassment from city officials, and worse.
Thank you to everyone who brought food for the lunches and those who came along to hand out the food.
