Walk humbly with your God…

At the heart of a life lived for God is a life lived with God. Spirituality is our human response to God as part of building that relationship with the divine. For some people, spirituality is pretty traditional – daily Bible study and prayer, plus worship on Sundays. For others of us, connecting with nature, sharing a meal with friends, or experiencing a powerful piece of art can be our way of walking humbly with God.

Gathering on Sundays with others seeking to connect with God is one important way of growing in your spiritual life. Taking that time to reflect, to learn and to share about your spiritual journey is like picking up a cup of water midway through a 5k – refreshing, keeping you healthy.

A holistic spirituality is nurtured by practices that include the whole person – heart, mind, and hands.  Another way of saying that is that we are on a journey seeking the beauty, truth and goodness of God. This is the heart of spirituality in the Christian life. Each person will live it their own way, and we come together to support each other and to walk a little further on the path.

“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously – take God seriously. ”
